Western Shooting Team Shines at West Texas College Shootout

The Western Oklahoma State College Shooting Team made a strong showing at the first-ever West Texas College Shootout in Amarillo, TX, this past weekend. As the only junior college represented at the event, the Pioneers showcased their skill, determination, and competitive spirit among a field of four-year institutions.

Leading the way for Western, Baylee Pence delivered an outstanding performance in the Ladies division—earning 1st place in Skeet (99), 1st in Trap (96), and 2nd in Sporting Clays (80). Her impressive results earned her the title of HOA Female Champion and 4th Place Overall among all male and female competitors.

Teammate Emily Robertson also excelled, claiming 2nd place in Skeet (96) in the Ladies division, while Madison Miller battled through a tough shoot-off to earn 4th place in Skeet.

As a team, Western finished 4th in Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays, and Overall, marking a strong start to their season and proving that the Pioneers can compete with the best at any level.
