Western Rodeo Athletes Earn Top Finishes at K-State Rodeo
The Western Oklahoma State College rodeo team delivered a strong performance at the Kansas State University Rodeo held February 19–22, highlighted by multiple top finishes in both team roping and breakaway roping competition.
Leading the way for the Pioneers was Dexton Hoelting, who claimed the title of K-State Champion Header. Hoelting posted consistent runs across both rounds to secure the championship and top overall points for the event.
In the team roping competition, Caleb Miller and Dace Morris turned in an impressive performance of their own, finishing third overall. The duo earned strong times in both the long round and short round, adding valuable points toward the team standings.
On the women's side, Western saw success in breakaway roping with Rylee Moore finishing fourth overall. Moore advanced to the short go and secured a solid average time to earn her top-five placement.
Teammate Brooke Kosick also contributed to the Pioneer effort, earning points with a strong first-round run to finish eighth overall in the breakaway standings.
The Pioneers continue to build momentum as they progress through the Central Plains Region season, with several athletes positioning themselves well for regional standings heading into the next rodeo.
