Pioneers Earn Runner-Up Finish at NCA College Nationals

Daytona Beach, Fla. — The Western Oklahoma State College cheer team delivered a historic performance on the national stage, securing a second-place finish in the Spirit Rally Junior College division at NCA College Nationals.

After a strong showing in prelims, the Pioneers entered finals sitting in second place with a zero-deduction routine and momentum on their side. They improved their performance score from 81.4 in prelims to 84.8 in finals, once again hitting a clean routine when it mattered most.

Competing against top programs from across the country, WOSC finished just behind Riverside City College, who claimed the national title, while holding off Connors State College to secure the runner-up position.

The Pioneers' consistency was key throughout the competition, posting zero deductions in both rounds and maintaining one of the highest execution scores in the division. Their finals score of 83.95 marked another step forward for a program that has rapidly risen on the national stage.

"This team showed incredible resilience all year long," said head coach Nichole Turner. "To come out here, hit two zero-deduction routines, and compete at this level on the Bandshell says everything about their work ethic and belief in each other. I couldn't be more proud of how they represented our program and our school."

This finish continues an impressive trend for WOSC Cheer, as the program has now placed in the top three at NCA College Nationals for the second consecutive year; including achieving the highest placement in program history.

From prelims to finals, the Pioneers showcased discipline, energy, and resilience, representing Western Oklahoma State College with pride on the iconic Daytona Beach Bandshell.

With another podium finish secured, the future remains bright for WOSC Cheer as they continue building a championship-caliber program.
